- Trade Commmissioner - Mozambique
Lurdes Magneli has been a Trade Commissioner at the High Commission of Canada to Mozambique for the past 9 years. During this time, she traveled to Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa for training and promoting the Mozambican market with the Canadian business community.
Before joining Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada in 2006, she worked as program officer at Norwegian Embassy; and at European Union Delegation within Food Aid/Food Security and Emergency programmes, in Maputo. While living in Sweden, she also worked as program manager at the Karolinska Institute within EU Research Project.
She also worked as Portuguese language teacher and part-time docent at the ISPU University. She holds a Master (LLM) degree in International Trade Law from Western Cape University, South Africa, and a BA in Law from Polytechnic University-ISPU in Mozambique.
